5 creative ways to use Furr Boost dog drinks

Just like us humans, our dog’s body is made up of 80% water. Water is essential as it ensures all bodily functions remain healthy and operative. The problem is some dogs do not drink as much water as they should!

In the warmer months, dogs require more water. The amount of water they need is about 3 to 4 times their usual amount. The specific quantity depends on their size and activity level. Luckily, there are great dog drinks available to add to your dog's water bowl and ensure they stay hydrated.

Furr Boost offers a variety of delicious dog drinks to top up your dog’s water intake. Each smoothie is made with carefully selected ingredients such as human grade real meat, fruit and vegetables, oils, and vitamins. This makes Furr Boost great functional wellbeing dog drinks to support digestion, immunity, metabolism, anxiety, healthy skin, and coat.

If you love the award-winning Furr Boost dog drinks as much as we do, then you have come to the right place. In this article, we will be sharing 5 creative ways to use Furr Boost dog drinks to elevate your dog’s wellbeing.

1. Make pupsicles using frozen Furr Boost dog drinks

There is nothing better than a nice cool ice lolly when the weather is hot. Our furry friends will love their very own pupsicle made from their favourite flavour of Furr Boost dog drinks!

Simply take a Furr Boost carton and give it a good shake, open the top and pour the liquid into a popsicle mould. Following this, you can add some additional treats for decoration (such as blueberries!) and then place in the freezer until frozen.

Owner and Founder of Furr Boost, Louise Toal, says “I love making iced lolly treats for my dogs! I use a natural chew for the stick, I freeze the Furr Boost first with the stick and once frozen, I layer with natural yoghurt and add fruit, then freeze again.

These are great anytime of the year, especially if your dogs are like mine and hug the log burner in the winter or bake themselves in the sun in the summer months. It’s a tasty iced treat and also a chew to sink their teeth into, win-win!”

2. Heat Furr Boost to create a tasty dog soup or warm drink!

In the colder months, your dog may prefer to have a warmer treat than a cold one. When you heat up Furr Boost dog drinks as a soup, the aromas will entice your dog to lap up those much-needed fluids.

Simply give the carton a good shake, empty it into a saucepan, and heat gently on medium to low heat until warm. Always check the soup before serving to your pup – we wouldn’t want them to burn their tongue!

To make special warm dog drinks for your pup, put peanut butter in a cup and pour Furr Boost on top. Then, you can either heat up the Furr Boost or leave it chilled. To finish the drink off, you can squirt on some more peanut butter and top with whipped cream. Nom nom!

3. Create some tasty Furr Boost pancakes!

Who doesn’t love a pancake? Our furry friends are no different! Did you know with Furr Boost dog drinks you can make the ULTIMATE pancake for your pooch to enjoy? Here's how:

Ingredients:

  • 100g Wholemeal Flour

  • 2 Large Eggs

  • 2 (mashed) bananas

  • 2 tbsp Peanut Butter (or Poochbutter)

  • Oil for frying

Method:

Step 1 – Add all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and stir until you have a smooth consistency.

Step 2 – Heat a frying pan on medium heat with a bit of oil and spoon your mixture on. Cook your pancakes for 1 minute on each side until golden.

Step 3 – Allow the dog pancakes to cool for 5 minutes before serving Furr Boost over the top.

After just 3 simple steps, the pancakes are ready for your dog to feast on!

4. Serve Furr Boost dog drinks on Lick Mats

Did you know that licking helps to reduce anxiety in dogs? It’s true. Research shows that it reduces anxiety by releasing chemicals that make our dog feel positive and calm.

If your dog gets panicked when they hear fireworks and thunderstorms, or suffer with separation anxiety, serving frozen Furr Boost dog drinks on a Lick Mat can really help to soothe them.

Just pour Furr Boost on Lick Mat, freeze it, and serve to your pup. As your dog licks the treat off the Lick Mat their anxiety will reduce, and they will start to feel much calmer. We recommend using Lickimat Tuff if you want to use Furr Boost on a Lick Mat. As the name suggests, Lickimatt Tuff is stronger and will hold the liquid better within the texture.

Alternatively, Mandala Enrichment E trays are a good alternative to Lick Mats to hold liquid

Lick Mats also serve as an excellent boredom buster, giving your pooch some much needed enrichment. Unlike other treats that your dog likely devours in minutes, adding Furr Boost dog drinks to a Lick Mat will keep your furry friend entertained for at least an hour.

5. Add Furr Boost dog drinks to enrichment trays and slow feeder bowls

As we mentioned above, Furr Boost dog drinks can be combined with enrichment products to create a brilliant boredom buster.

If your dog is a gobbler and tends to eat their meals too quickly, enrichment trays and slow feeder bowls are great to encourage them to eat slower and enjoy their meals at a leisurely pace. Simply add their dog food – whether it be dry, wet, or raw – to an enrichment tray or slow feeder bowl, then top with some delicious Furr Boost.

This way, mealtimes for your dog will be much more engaging and they’ll be less likely to experience stomach upsets that can occur from gobbling up their food too fast. Furr Boost dog drinks work as great food toppers, especially on kibble that tends to be very dry and dehydrating.

Adding dog drinks to your dog’s favourite kibble, will moisten the food and add extra flavour that your dog will love.
