They've whipped up honeycomb emats, honey stick chew bones, and honey bear treat dispensers. And now, they've added the final piece to their honey-inspired collection – a charming fillable enrichment honey pot!

If Winnie the Pooh were a dog, he'd wag his tail in delight, and your furry friend will too. This nifty treat dispenser offers your dog a world of fun and enrichment.

Instructions

Step 1 – Select Your Filling Choose a filling that suits your dog's taste and dietary needs. The Honey Pot works with a wide range of foods including kibble, canned dog food, peanut butter, cream cheese, or homemade dog treats. For added variety and challenge, try combining wet and dry foods together to create a stickier, more engaging mix.

Step 2 – Fill the Honey Pot Turn the Honey Pot upside down and spoon or squeeze your chosen filling in through the opening. The toy holds approximately one cup of food, making it suitable for a full meal or a generous treat session. Avoid overfilling, leaving a little space allows the food to dispense gradually, keeping your dog working at it for longer.

Step 3 – Choose: Serve Immediately or Freeze You have two options depending on the level of challenge you'd like to provide:

  • Serve straight away - hand the filled Honey Pot directly to your dog for an immediate enrichment session.
  • Freeze it - place the filled Honey Pot in the freezer for several hours or overnight. The frozen filling takes considerably more time and effort to extract, extending the session and making it ideal for keeping your dog occupied during longer periods alone.

Step 4 – Let Your Dog Enjoy Place the Honey Pot on the floor and let your dog get to work licking, nudging, and manipulating it to release the food inside. The shape and design naturally slow the process down, encouraging your dog to eat at a more measured pace and providing mental stimulation throughout.

Step 5 – Supervise During Use Always monitor your dog during use, especially the first few times. This helps you ensure the toy is the right size for your dog and that they are interacting with it safely. If any damage occurs to the toy, remove it from your dog immediately and dispose of it.

Step 6 – Clean After Every Use Once your dog has finished, rinse the Honey Pot thoroughly to remove any food residue. Place it on the top rack of your dishwasher for a full, hygienic clean. If washing by hand, use warm soapy water and ensure all food, particularly sticky fillings like peanut butter is fully removed before the next use.

Tips for Best Results

  • Rotate your fillings regularly to maintain your dog's interest and excitement
  • Use the frozen method when leaving your dog alone to help ease separation anxiety
  • Start with looser fillings like kibble before progressing to stickier options such as peanut butter for an added challenge
  • Pair with the rest of the SodaPup Honey Collection — the honeycomb emat, honey stick chew bone, and honey bear treat dispenser — for a varied enrichment routine
Materials & Care

Material

The Honey Pot is made from SodaPup's PUP-X space-age synthetic rubber material, which offers durability comparable to their Puppyprene natural rubber. It is non-toxic, BPA-free, phthalate-free and food-safe, passing strict safety regulations including California's Proposition 65. PUP-X also floats, making it suitable for use in and around water.

Care Instructions

The Honey Pot is top-rack dishwasher safe for easy, hygienic cleaning. For best results, rinse thoroughly after each use to remove any food residue, particularly when filled with wet foods or peanut butter.

Safety Notice

This product is an enrichment feeder and is not intended as an indestructible chew toy. Always select the most appropriate size for your dog, supervise them during use and dispose of the toy promptly if damage occurs.

FAQs

Is the SodaPup Honey Pot suitable for puppies?

Yes, the Honey Pot is suitable for puppies as well as adult dogs. For younger dogs, start with softer, easier fillings like wet food or plain yoghurt and supervise closely during use. As your puppy grows more confident, you can gradually introduce stickier fillings or try the frozen method for a longer challenge.

What size dogs is the Honey Pot designed for?

The Honey Pot is best suited to small and medium-sized dogs. With dimensions of 8.4 cm x 8.4 cm and a capacity of approximately one cup of food, it is compact enough for smaller breeds but may not provide sufficient challenge or meal volume for large or giant breeds.

How long will the Honey Pot keep my dog occupied?

This varies depending on the filling and your dog's experience with enrichment toys. Dry kibble may be emptied in a few minutes, while sticky fillings like peanut butter or wet food mixed with dry can last 10–20 minutes. The frozen method typically provides the longest engagement, often 30 minutes or more.

Is the SodaPup Honey Pot suitable for aggressive chewers?

The Honey Pot is made from durable PUP-X synthetic rubber, but it is designed as an enrichment feeder rather than a chew toy. If your dog tends to chew and destroy toys rather than lick and interact with them, supervise carefully and consider SodaPup's tougher chew-focused ranges instead.

Can the Honey Pot be used in water or outdoors?

Yes. The PUP-X material used in the Honey Pot is buoyant, meaning it floats, making it a fun option for use in paddling pools, the garden, or on the beach. Just ensure fillings are suitable for outdoor use and rinse thoroughly afterwards.

Does the SodaPup Honey Pot help with dogs that have separation anxiety?

It can be a helpful tool as part of a broader separation anxiety management routine. Filling the Honey Pot and freezing it before you leave gives your dog a prolonged, absorbing activity that can ease the stress of being alone. It is not a standalone treatment, but many owners find it significantly helps their dog settle.
