The Nuts for Pets Peanut Poochbutter is one of our top favourite dog products, and we know how much our customers love it too! It can be used in so many ways to enrich your dog’s life, whether that be using it to bake delicious treats, adding to your pup’s kibble as a tasty topper, or spreading onto Lick Mats or into Treat Dispensers for double the fun!

We love Nuts for Pets products and how they are leading the way in pet care revolution! That’s why we have chosen them to be our Brand of the Month. Within this article, we celebrate this fantastic brand, diving into everything you should know about Nuts for Pets and their paws-itively scrumptious dog products.

Nuts for Pets was founded in 2019 in Edinburgh by Alastair and Amelia, who are both passionate about animals and the environment.

Alastair and Amelia noticed that it was difficult to find ethically made pet food in stores. They were excited about the opportunity to make a difference. They have a strong belief that enhancing pets’ lives starts with their meals. So, this was when the Nuts for Pets mission began to create a better life for the 25 million pets across the UK!

Their very first product was Poochbutter, a dog-friendly Peanut Butter with no palm oil or additives. Poochbutter is now a best-seller and a great treat to keep your pooch happy and healthy (but more on that later!)

Nuts for Pets have really expanded over the years with a strong presence across 10+ countries. They also expanded on their product range too, now offering crumbles and biscuits that pair well with their Poochbutter! Not forgetting the yummy Salmon Oil full of Omega 3 & 6 and natural nutrition that can be squirted onto your pup’s meal.

Nuts for Pets is dedicated to improving pets' lives and is committed to sustainability and reducing their environmental impact. This can be seen through their use of recycled packaging where possible, and plastic tubs that are 100% recyclable.

Peanut Butter is a popular snack for humans, some brands of Peanut Butter can contain ingredients that are toxic to our furry friends. Xylitol, which can be found within Peanut Butter, is dangerous for dogs in large amounts. It can cause rapid insulin release that can lead to hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar) and can make your poor pup very sick.

On top of this, regular peanut butter has a lot of fat and calories. Giving your dog too much can cause weight gain and health problems.

But that doesn’t mean your dog can’t enjoy Peanut Butter in a safe way! Poochbutter was invented to be suitable for all dog breeds as part of their healthy, balanced diet. It uses only the highest quality ingredients, with no palm oil or additives.

Plus, they use Peanuts from South America with the lowest levels of aflatoxin. This means not only is Poochbutter mouth-wateringly delicious, but it’s super safe. There’s no wonder our dogs’ go nuts for it!

You can use Poochbutter in many ways to enrich your dog's life. For example, you can hide their medication within it, bake your own treats, spread onto Lick Mats or Fillable Toys, made into frozen treats, added into your pup’s meals, or can be used on the go with a Poochbutter Pal. Alternatively, you can let your dog have a lick off the spoon or straight from the tub! The choice is totally yours!

If you have a tub of Poochbutter and can’t decide on the best way to use it, you have come to the right section! Here we provide some of our favourite ways to use Poochbutter for ulti-mutt enjoyment!

1. Fill up your Honey Pot with some tasty Poochbutter!
2. If you like, add some of your dog’s dinner to the mix – whether that be kibble, wet, fresh, or raw food.
3. Insert some Denzel’s Nut Butter Bites into the pot.
4. Push down a Chicken Foot into your mixture for some extra chewiness!
5. Place in the freezer for a few hours to create an extra challenge for your furry friend.

1. Coat the inside and rim of your Toppl with your choice of tasty Poochbutter
2. Pop some treats (such as blueberries or any other fruit your pup loves) inside the Toppl.
3. Add a small portion of your dog’s kibble and a Chicken Foot into the mixture.
4. Use a layer of cucumber to ensure everything stays at the bottom and top with grated carrot!
5. Decorate the top of your Toppl with the remainder of your dog’s favourite fruit.
6. Add Furr Boost into a Mould Tray, before freezing for a few hours. (The best trays come in different shapes for extra fun!) As you can see within the image below, our customer used an adorable bunny shape to create a Furr Boost Bunny to celebrate Easter.

1. Simply spread Poochbutter over your choice of Lick Mat.

2. Add your dog’s favourite treats.

3. Following this, you can either freeze a little or hand over to your pup to enjoy as it is!
