FAQs

What type of dog bowls are best?

The best type of dog bowl depends on your dog's needs and your lifestyle. Wooof's dog bowls are available in a range of sizes, materials and designs to suit every breed and routine. They are practical, stylish and built to last through every breakfast, dinner and everything in between.
For dogs that eat too fast, a slow feeder bowl is a great choice. Research shows that most slow feeder bowls are ineffective at slowing down your dog's eating, so it's worth choosing one that's specifically designed to increase the challenge. If you want to add some mental stimulation at mealtimes, enrichment-style bowls and lick bowls are also excellent options. For life on the go, a collapsible silicone or rubber travel bowl is ideal. And if you want something that looks good at home, a ceramic bowl blends beautifully with your existing décor.

Is it better for dogs to drink out of glass or stainless steel bowls?

Glass isn't something you'll find in the Wooof dog bowl collection and for a good reason. The bowls stocked here are made from materials better suited to daily dog use: ceramic, stainless steel, silicone and melamine. The ceramic bowls are crafted from heavyweight, FDA approved ceramic that is durable, chew proof and 100% dishwasher and microwave safe. The melamine bowls are made from 100% human food grade melamine with a matte finish and are easy to clean. Stainless steel is another popular choice across the industry, as it's hygienic, rust-resistant and easy to keep clean. All of these materials are far more practical than glass for dogs, which can chip or shatter and pose a safety risk.

What size dog bowl do I need?

It depends on the size of your dog. For example, The Park Life Designs ceramic bowls come in three sizes: Small (5.25" diameter, 2 cup capacity), Medium (6.25" diameter, 2¾ cup capacity) and Large (8.5" diameter, 8 cup capacity). As a general rule, small breeds need a smaller, shallower bowl, while large breeds need something deeper with a greater capacity to hold a full meal. The Wooof collection is filterable by dog size (Small Breed, Medium Breed, Large Breed) and All Breeds, making it easy to find the right fit. If in doubt, size up rather than down, so your dog can eat comfortably without the bowl feeling cramped.
