Should dogs wear bandanas?

Absolutely, as long as your dog is comfortable wearing one. Dog bandanas are perfect for everyday walks, special occasions or training milestones and they're a completely harmless, fuss-free accessory. The key is choosing the right material and fit. The Animate cooling bandanas are made from 100% polyester, which is soft and premium, and come in three sizes (small, medium and large), so there's a comfortable fit for dogs of all sizes. As with any accessory, just make sure the bandana is securely, but not tightly fitted and always supervise your dog when they're wearing one, especially early on.

Do dog bandanas go on the front or back of dogs?

Dog bandanas are typically worn around the neck, with the knot or fastening sitting at the back and the fabric draping down the front of the chest, giving that classic, triangular bandana look. This is also the most practical position, keeping it visible and out of the way while your dog moves. The WOOOF bandanas are tailor cut, sized and ready to wear, so there's no complicated folding or pinning required, just pop it on and you're good to go. Some bandanas can also be threaded through a collar for a more secure fit, which is handy if your dog is particularly active.

What are dog bandanas for?

Dog bandanas serve a mix of practical and purely joyful purposes. At their simplest, they add a touch of style and personality to your pup's wardrobe and are perfect for everyday walks, special occasions or training milestones. Some bandanas go a step further with functional benefits, the Animate cooling bandanas are designed to keep pooches looking and feeling cool and can be worn for any occasion. Bandanas can also be personalised with character, using iron-on merit badges that reflect your dog's personality, whether they're a Fetch Fanatic, a Rescue Dog, a Belly Rub Club member or a certified Wiggle Butt. In short, they're a fun, low-commitment way to celebrate your dog and show a bit of their personality to the world.

Why do groomers give bandanas?

It's a lovely finishing touch that groomers have long used to send dogs home looking (and smelling) their best. A bandana signals that a dog has been freshly groomed and gives them a polished, put-together look that owners tend to love. It's also a small gesture that makes the whole grooming experience feel more special, a bit like a reward for being a good boy or good girl on the table. The collection at Wooof even includes iron-on merit badges designed to celebrate exactly these kinds of milestones from "Good Boy" and "Good Girl" to "Tricks for Treats", which make the perfect addition to a dog's bandana, jacket or blanket.
